LEGO Italy accomplishes a record-breaking feat combining creativity, play, and solidarity.
On October 29, 2023, during the 44th edition of the Bergamo Trade Fair, the world’s largest lenticular LEGO brick mosaic achieved the Guinness World Record.
But what does “lenticular mosaic” mean?
It’s a special technique that allows two different images to be represented in the same artwork, visible alternately simply by changing the viewing angle. This stunning optical effect is on a mosaic over 17 meters long and more than 3 meters high, made up of 811,008 LEGO bricks.
The artwork, designed by Pierluigi Cervati, founder of Brick City, celebrates the cities of Bergamo and Brescia, Italian Capital of Culture 2023.
This project represents a message of unity and sharing between two territories symbolizing rebirth and collaboration.
A collective project involving both adults and children
Besides being an exceptional achievement, this record involved hundreds of people who directly contributed to the mosaic’s construction.
The project also involved children hospitalized in pediatric wards of various Italian hospitals, thanks to the solidarity initiative Build To Give, active since 2018.
Thanks to Build To Give, LEGO Italy donated 281,216 LEGO sets to children in need, in collaboration with Fondazione ABIO Italia Onlus, confirming the social and inclusive value of the project.
Among the initiative’s protagonists is Pietro Morello, a musician and content creator always engaged in humanitarian projects, who participated as an ambassador for LEGO Italy. Morello involved children in moments of play, building, and solidarity, helping to spread the positive message of this extraordinary initiative.

After the exhibition at the Bergamo Fair, the mosaic continues to inspire and tell the story of the power of shared play.
